If you do not know how the Fantasy NASCAR League works, it is quite simple to explain. People who register in the league become team owners, and they have to pick a racing team from the selection of real human drivers on the NASCAR circuit. These drivers then earn points for the team, just as they do in real life.

This means that when one of your team members is taking part in a real race, say at Pocono, you can cheer him on in the anticipation that he will add points to your team’s total. This makes it quite realistic, except that you do not have to stump up the millions of dollars it would normally cost to own such a team and run it.

The Fantasy NASCAR League teams’ points totals are then held centrally and prizes are awarded at fixed intervals: monthly, quarterly, etc.. Some Fantasy NASCAR Leagues confer prizes of gear or equipment others award prizes of cash. Some charge to become a member, others do not.

The Fantasy NASCAR League began life in the Eighties after the success of the Fantasy Soccer League proved that the concept could work, but it did not truly take off until ten years later when the league became more available to more people over the Internet. Fantasy leagues based on Formula One and Indy soon followed.

There are in fact quite a few Fantasy NASCAR Leagues and the rules vary slightly from league to league, although basically they all stick to the points awarded by NASCAR. However, there are often idiosyncratic rules to avoid ties such as limiting the number of times a driver’s results can be allowed for a fantasy team depending on the popularity of that driver within that fantasy league.

There are all sorts of Fantasy NASCAR Leagues, some even include motorcycle races in the list of races that a team owner has to forecast, while other leagues place importance on such criteria as fastest lap time, average lap time or total time spent in first place. Sometimes these extra regulations are more important with Fantasy NASCAR Leagues that build their results on fewer races

There is of course an official NASCAR Fantasy NASCAR League, which is available at its website. In this league team owners get a hundred million dollars to put together a team and the league is based on weekly results.

First, I know some crashes from the past years are missing, eg the Coke Zero 2009 finish. Well, this is cause I was mainly concentrating on the video QUALITY, not on the QUANTITY. I also didn’t use some vids cause there were advertising banners on the bottom/the top aswell as many were in terrible quality, eg the massive ARCA wreck in 2005. I hope you understand that rendering low quality videos in HD is just a waste of time. I only used widescreen videos ’cause I HATE those black bars beside the video. At triple-digit speeds, the least move off-balance could send you into the boards or worse, another driver. So although the rest of the world sees Tucker take the podium race after race, what they don’t see is the amount of preparation required for just one race, much less races in all five series Tucker entered this year.

This year, Tucker has taken the podium at numerous race tracks, including Road America at the Sports Car Club of America National Championship Runoffs-his third consecutive win there-Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway most recently at American Le Mans Series Monterey, and at Road Atlanta for Petit Le Mans. Each of these races is an endurance race; none of Tucker’s ALMS or Intercontinental Le Mans Cup series races were less than 6 hours, and most were in the 10-12-hour range. With teams of drivers taking single or double shifts sometimes three hours at a time, each driver must be in impeccable physical shape.

The degree of concentration a driver must maintain for extended periods of time is challenged by high temperatures and the need to keep the body completely balanced to be able to control the car. Tucker has said he loses seven pounds every race.

When he first determined in the professional motorsports world, Tucker was driving in the Ferrari Challenge series and the SCCA, in Grand-Ams and Ferraris. But he always had his eye on the Le Mans Prototypes series, the ALMS and the ILMC, cars built for speed and racing. With his goal set to make an appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, Tucker began the physical regimen that would be the foundation for a successful Le Mans debut in 2010. Tucker woke up at 4:30 a.m., before the sun, to put in an hour of cardiovascular exercise followed by core and flexibility workouts with a trainer. During any given race, a driver might face elevation changes, quick right and left turns and bumpy tracks, along with the challenge of maneuvering among and around other drivers on the track. Diet and sleep regimens are also key to fitness, but none of these elements come easy. Most recently, at Petit Le Mans, Tucker and his team had just received a brand new car that they’d never tested before. That they the testing/qualifying week prior to Petit to orient themselves with the car, make adjustments for driver accommodation, and deliver quality qualifying performances. The entire team was on the track until 2 a.m. several nights that week.

With the 2010 Le Mans appearance, Tucker proved himself with an impressive qualifying time, but ultimately the team’s car crashed and didn’t finish the race. Tucker has spent the year-and-a-half since the 2010 Le Mans making very few mistakes on the race track and improving upon the quality of his performances.

Not too long ago clinching the LMP2 drivers championship along with co-driver Christophe Bouchut, Tucker joins his team aiming for an ILMC vice championship in races in Italy and Zhuhai, China. By keeping in top physical shape and maintaining unbelievable amounts of focus and discipline, Scott Tucker has worked his way to the top of elite motorsports. With 2011 all but in the rearview, eyes are on the 2012 season. If it goes as well or much better than the past year, Tucker will likely not be surprised. It’s what he’s been working for all along.

Trevor Bayne, making his second career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start (first at the Daytona 500), wins the 2011 Daytona 500. It is his first NASCAR win. Carl Edwards will come in 2nd, David Gilliland will come in 3rd. Credit goes to NASCAR and FOX Networks.

The 2011 NASCAR iRacing.com Series World Championship season began on February 15th at Daytona International Speedway. 40 drivers began the 18 race season. The champion will win 500 cash. iRacer, Ray Alfalla, won the opening round in a wild race marked by big crashes and exciting racing action.
