We have all been told not to judge by appearances, but unfortunately the car we choose to drive makes a statement that forms our image which is then projected to the rest of the world. The type of vehicle and brand that someone chooses to purchase can also be a way to express yourself. A two-seater sports vehicle says : “I am single without a care in the world”, while a mini-van might suggest “I have my hands full with a boatload of kids!”. These stereotypes may not be truly accurate or even close to the truth; they simply offer a glimpse as to how an individual might be judged and perceived due to their choice of vehicle. Either way, it’s rather interesting to see how the color, brand and type of vehicle can form an impression of you on others.

The size and type of car that one drive reveals numerous facets about someone’s nature and disposition. Driving a SUV can reflect a desire of the owner to be trendy and fashion forward, as SUV’s seem to be the rage nowadays. Individuals who drive fuel efficient cars can be perceived as having a strong concern for the environment or possibly being frugal in regards to the cost of fuel. Drivers of medium sized sedans tend to be thought of as practical and concerned about utility and safety. Hybrid cars are generally associated with people who have strong proclivity towards protecting the environment and the earth’s resources while mini vans tend to be typically associated with large families.

A auto’s color can also reveal quite a bit about the driver’s personality and moods. A red vehicle may indicate that the driver is a passionate, energetic and perhaps a little wild. Keep in mind that red cars are more obvious and tend to receive more traffic tickets than any other colored vehicle. Black cars symbolize authority, elegance and power and send the message that one is confident and self-assured. Drivers of white cars are perceived as safe, practical and serious-minded. Drivers of blue cars tend to be perceived as loyal, calm and wanting to blend in with the crowd rather than stand out and make a bold statement. Yellow cars and their drivers are seen as fun, confident and young at heart.

The brand of auto that one drives also makes a statement about the driver. These perceptions may be completely false, however, they are simply related to the brand of the auto maker which is then simply transferred to the consumer. For example, drivers of Mercedes Benz vehicles tend to be perceived as ambitious, powerful and high class whereas Honda drivers are thought of more as practical and concerned with safety and function. Jeep drivers are thought of as playful adventure seekers who enjoy a lot of outdoor adventures.

It is important to keep in mind that these stereotypes are by no means fact and they may be Although we may not agree with it, we are constantly judged by others on our superficial exterior and that includes the car that we drive. It might be helpful to keep these tidbits in mind the next time you consider buying a new vehicle car. .
