Should you browse around town, you might find two or more cars in your the next door neighbors garage. You might question, how can they make their cars last long? Taking good care of one’s car is one of the things that will surely lengthen its lifespan and these are the basic things you can do to achieve this:

Change Oil – Changing your car’s oil is essential for any car’s machinery system. Although the majority of drivers change their car’s oil every 7,500 kilometers, experts suggest changing every 3,000 to 4,000 kilometers of distance traveled. When you don’t change oil frequently, you can expect your vehicle to break down once in a while.

Fluids – Have your brake, transmission and power steering fluids checked regularly and be sure you refill as required.

Proper Tire Inflation – Your cars have to be inflated up to a certain pressure is important. An under-inflated tire may cause your vehicle to run much slower than the speed it was made for. It is possible to do a test if your to know if your car’s tire is properly inflated or not. The very first thing you need to do is draw a line across the wheel using a piece of chalk on the part that touches the ground. Let the vehicle roll off, letting the wheel spin 2-3 times. If most of the chalk is erased in the center, then your tire is over-inflated. But if the chalk marks to the sides which have thinned, your tire is under-inflated chalk it is worn off more on the sides then it is under-inflated. Also, in case your car is under-inflated, it’s going to use up more gas.

Batteries and Cables -Regularly look at your car’s batteries and cables. You should check your car’s batteries because these provide power to your car for turning on your headlights, honking the horn along with other energy-consuming functions. Whenever your car runs out of battery while you’re on the road, this may put you in danger.

Wires – You need to look at your car’s wiring and specifically look out for peeled wires. These may cause your car’s electronic system to malfunction and may even make it stop while you’re on the road. Again, this could be dangerous.

Air Filter – Your filters also needs to be changed regularly. Though many individuals would only change their filters once after changing oil twice, that is wrong. It will be better should you would change your air filter every time you change your car’s oil.

Window Cracks – Leaving a crack on your window unfixed is not a good practice whatsoever. Regardless how small that crack is, it may always grow larger with time. If you find a crack on your windshield or any of your car windows, have it repaired immediately.

They’re very easy, routine steps for taking care of your vehicle and making it stay in good shape for as long as it can.

Electrical and exhaust systems are essential

If your pickup won’t start, it doesn’t matter how good it looks. If the problem is on the exhaust end, you might need catalytic converters, exhaust systems, exhaust tips and extensions, headers or mufflers.
